Life as a Blogger |
Hey there, over the last few weeks I have become a blogger, I have found its hard chatting about yourself and your work, especially commenting on others. Over time I have come across heaps of cool blog sites whilst I have been 'lurking' and you can check these out in the side panel on the right.
I have commented on a number of sites which caught my eye and seemed to express peoples personalities. I found a lot of peoples work which I thought looked aesthetically appealing and this is what led me to commenting on others blogs.
I have found this as an odd way to talk to people, having never met some of them. Some peoples blog sites like Matt Eales (and a few others) I found have been similar in style to myself. Matt and I then chose to work together on our Pes Vlog. It was a cool way to see everyones best work of the last semester by giving everyone a chance to comment and view each others blogs. Everyone seemed to have an original style and theme about their site and work which made this assignment quite interesting.

Creative Blogs of Interest |
www.changethethought.com is an art and culture blog website which shows a range of art from graphic design to films and pop culture. This site portrays the link between culture and art.
www.todayandtomorrow.net provides a platform for industrial design, graphic design, photography, sculptures and a wide variety of other disciplines. Its a simplistic website which is easy to follow and use.
www.yankodesign.com is a site dedicated to industrial design news and is a great way to keep updated with newly fashioned designs however unusual or pointless they may be.
Each of these sites I have found through a variety of design blogs which share similar ideas and concepts. Each site is cutting edge so provides a great way to see future designs.

Music Film 'The Clip' |
For my first post I have chosen to write about Design 111 the 'clip', which was the last assignment for the 111 paper. I chose to explore industrial design in the film (designed alongside Matt Eales). The idea we had was to create a juxtaposition of still images of each of the major music players over the last 30 odd years. We decided to go with a minimalist 'pen and paper' styled film which showcased the concept through a series of quick sketches of the various music players, finishing up with the endline, that it 'all starts here' at Vic. This project was definitely a favourite due to the freedom we had and the chance of experimenting with new media. You can view the film by clicking here.
